Questions

What is vibe coding fatigue?
Vibe coding fatigue is the low-grade exhaustion that builds up after a long session with Cursor, Claude Code, or Windsurf. Each generation pause is a mini idle window — most developers fill it with doom-scrolling, which reintroduces context switches and makes the next prompt harder to write. ZenCode replaces that reflex with a 10-second guided breath so the pauses become recovery instead of depletion. Long read →
Does ZenCode slow down my workflow or interrupt my code?
No. ZenCode only triggers during idle time the AI already creates — while it is generating a response. The breathing overlay is fully dismissible (Esc or Skip), does not touch your editor state, and the default session is 10 seconds. If your AI finishes faster, the overlay closes automatically. You can configure or disable the auto-trigger from settings.
Which editors does ZenCode work with?
Anything built on VS Code's extension host: VS Code itself, Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code's VS Code integration. Install the .vsix once and it runs in all of them. There's also a standalone browser breathing tool if you want zero install.
How often does the breathing session trigger?
By default the overlay appears when the AI has been generating for a few seconds — long enough to be a real pause, short enough to catch you before you reach for another tab. The idle threshold and session duration are both configurable, and you can trigger a session manually at any time with Ctrl+Shift+B (⌘+Shift+B on Mac).
Is ZenCode free? Does it send my code anywhere?
Yes, free. ZenCode never reads, transmits, or stores your code. The extension sends one anonymous install ping (version + anonymous ID — no code, no identifying data) which you can disable via the zencode.telemetry setting. Live usage numbers are published openly on the stats page.
